OUR STORY

Two friends,
one kind of care.

Dr. Adeeb Saleh and Dr. Ahmed Karim have been friends since high school. Years later they reunited, tired of the same thing: corporate-style medicine built on quick fixes and short visits, where patients leave without feeling heard.

So they built Lavena Health to do it differently. Visits take the time your concerns need, your plan is built around you, and you know the price before you begin. Their goal is to make this kind of care the standard for clinics breaking away from traditional insurance-based medicine.

They also wanted to bridge traditional and holistic medicine. Dr. Chanelle Azar, a board-certified Doctor of Oriental Medicine, joined to bring Eastern medicine into the same practice. Patients can explore acupuncture, cupping and Hijama alongside their conventional care.

OUR MISSION

Care built around
knowing you.

To make thoughtful, personal care part of everyday life — with physicians who know you, time to understand your health, and clear prices before you begin.

Lavena brings primary care, medical weight loss, hormone care and Eastern medicine together in Temple Terrace. Our founders own the practice and see patients themselves. Your history, goals and response to care shape the plan.

Dr. Adeeb Saleh DO

Board-certified Emergency Medicine · A4M certified in hormone replacement therapy and weight-loss medicine

From urgent moments to lasting health.

More than a decade in emergency and urgent care shaped Dr. Saleh’s interest in preventing disease before it becomes a crisis. At Lavena, that perspective informs his work in metabolic health, weight loss and hormone care.

Background, credentials & approach

Background

Dr. Saleh spent more than a decade practicing emergency and urgent care medicine — a setting that rewards fast, accurate judgment and shows you, repeatedly, the downstream cost of preventable disease. That experience is what moved his focus upstream, toward metabolic health, hormones and prevention.

He holds dual certifications from the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M) in hormone replacement therapy and in weight-loss medicine, and he sets the protocols used across Lavena's GLP-1 and hormone programs personally.

How he practices

Every protocol starts with your history and your own numbers rather than a template. Dose, technique and a defined trial period are agreed before anything begins, and the plan is adjusted on how you actually respond — or stopped if it is not working.

He owns the practice, so there is no layer between you and your physician: the doctor who writes your plan is the doctor you see at follow-up.

Dr. Ahmed Karim MD

Wellness & preventative medicine · trained in orthopedic surgery

A deeper look at everyday wellbeing.

Dr. Karim’s path from orthopedic surgery in Iraq to wellness medicine in the United States brings recovery, prevention and patient education into the same conversation. His focus includes metabolic disease, hormones and gut health.

Background, credentials & approach

Background

Dr. Karim trained and completed his orthopedic surgery residency in Iraq. During his time there he treated both US military personnel and Iraqi civilians — work that spanned trauma, reconstruction and the long arc of recovery.

After returning to America he transitioned to practicing wellness and preventative medicine, and has since honed that expertise across a wide variety of patients dealing with metabolic disease, hormone derangements and gut health issues.

How he practices

His approach is proactive rather than reactive: understand how energy, metabolism, hormones and digestion move together, then treat the pattern rather than a single number. He places a high priority on patient education, so you leave understanding the plan you are on and why.

  • Metabolic disease and weight management

NCCAOM board-certified · Doctor of Oriental Medicine

Tradition, with your whole health in mind.

Dr. Azar brings Eastern medicine into a physician-owned practice, with acupuncture, Hijama and herbal medicine considered alongside your conventional care. Every visit starts with your health and your goals.

Background, credentials & approach

Background

Dr. Azar practices Eastern medicine as a complement to, not a replacement for, conventional care — which is why her service sits inside a physician-owned clinic rather than beside one. Patients are assessed first, and treatment is chosen for the goal in front of them.
