Bioidentical hormone therapy (BHRT) in Tampa

The years around perimenopause and menopause can bring changes that feel hard to name — and easy to dismiss. At Lavena Health in Temple Terrace, BHRT is a physician-led decision grounded in your bloodwork and your symptoms together, never a one-size protocol. Dr. Adeeb Saleh, DO is A4M-certified in hormone replacement and oversees your care personally.

Physician-managed BHRT — labs, dosing & monitoring at $150/mo flat.

Signs of hormone imbalance in women

As estrogen and progesterone shift through perimenopause and menopause, symptoms can arrive gradually and vary widely from woman to woman. Common experiences include hot flashes and night sweats, irregular or changing cycles, disrupted sleep, mood swings or new anxiety, brain fog and trouble focusing, low libido, vaginal dryness, and fatigue that rest doesn't resolve. Some women also notice changes in skin, weight, or energy. Any one of these can have several causes, so we don't treat symptoms in isolation — we look at how they line up with your labs before deciding whether hormone therapy is the right step.

How we diagnose it

Care begins with a full hormone and safety panel, drawn before any treatment. Depending on where you are in the transition, that typically includes estradiol, progesterone, FSH, and testosterone, along with thyroid function, metabolic markers, and other labs that help us interpret your symptoms and rule out overlapping causes. Dr. Saleh reviews the full picture with you — your history, your symptoms, and your results. BHRT is recommended only when your labs and symptoms align and the benefits make sense for you. Sometimes the panel points toward thyroid, metabolic, or other issues that deserve attention first.

What treatment looks like

If BHRT is a good fit, your protocol is personalized — the specific hormones, doses, and delivery are matched to your labs, your symptoms, and your medical history. Bioidentical hormones can be delivered in several forms, and Dr. Saleh will walk you through the options so the plan works for your life. Care is ongoing rather than set-and-forget: we recheck labs periodically, revisit how you're feeling, and adjust. Physician visits, your protocol, and monitoring are all covered by one flat $150/month. See hormone therapy for the full program, or financing for payment details.

Safety & who should not start

Hormone therapy is a shared, informed decision, and physician supervision is central to doing it well. For women with a uterus, estrogen is generally paired with progesterone to protect the uterine lining, and we monitor your response and relevant markers over time. BHRT is not appropriate for everyone. Women with a history of hormone-sensitive cancers (such as certain breast or uterine cancers), unexplained vaginal bleeding, active blood clots or a significant clotting history, or serious liver disease generally should not start until those are evaluated. Dr. Saleh will review your full history, including personal and family risk factors, before recommending anything.

Common questions

How do I know if my symptoms are hormonal?

Symptoms like hot flashes, disrupted sleep, mood changes, brain fog, and low libido can point to shifting hormones, but they overlap with thyroid, metabolic, and other issues. The way to know is a hormone and safety panel reviewed alongside your symptoms. We diagnose from labs and symptoms together, not from a checklist.

What's included in the $150/mo plan?

One flat monthly price covers your physician visits with Dr. Saleh, your personalized BHRT protocol, and ongoing monitoring. Lab draw fees may be handled separately depending on where labs are run — we'll be clear about that up front. There's no insurance billing; see /financing for details.

Do you need labs before starting?

Yes. A baseline hormone and safety panel is required before any BHRT is prescribed. We won't start treatment without it, because the labs confirm what's actually happening and establish the markers we monitor going forward.

Do you offer hormone therapy for men too?

Yes. We offer testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) for men with lab-confirmed low testosterone, following the same lab-first, physician-led approach — see our hormone therapy hub to learn more.

How long until BHRT works?

It varies. Some women notice improvements in sleep, hot flashes, or mood within the first several weeks, while other benefits develop more gradually. We recheck labs and revisit how you're feeling to fine-tune your protocol rather than promising a fixed timeline.
